2026暑期档蓄势待发，国产电影市场活力强劲
China’s film market has shown strong vitality this year, with the annual box office exceeding 16 billion yuan so far. A grand summer film season is approaching, featuring more than 60 new movies to enrich people’s cinema experiences.
Many excellent works have already become crowd favorites this year. Blockbusters such as Pegasus 3 and Blades of the Guardians: Wind Rises in the Desert rank high on the annual box office chart. One highlight worth mentioning is Dear You. Rooted in the traditional qiaopi culture of overseas Chinese, this Chaoshan-dialect film will launch its global screening on June 18.
This summer’s film lineup covers diverse genres, catering to different audiences’ tastes. Historical war films stand out, including Crossing and Peng Hu. The former recreates the Red Army’s Long March to mark the 90th anniversary of the Long March victory, while the latter tells the true story of a key naval (海军的) battle in the Qing Dynasty. Domestic animations continue to drive market growth. The Three Kingdoms Part 1: Battle for Luoyang presents amazing oriental (东方人的) historical scenes, and Da Sheng Rises retells the Monkey King’s story with new modern themes.
Lighthearted and romantic works also add color to the summer cinema feast. Funny comedies like the sequeltoMake Zhonghe Great Again show lively modern office life, and the sci-fi comedy Keep Real combines humor with warm growth stories. Romantic films range from realistic love tales to creative sci-fi-themed love stories. Besides, famous international hit movies, including Toy Story 5 and Steven Spielberg’s new sci-fi thriller, will join the competition and bring more surprises to viewers.
