Leah Wilson’s small kindness to a crow created a warm and surprising friendship.
One day, Leah saw an injured crow trapped in the rain gutter (排水沟) of a house. Many other crows circled above and called for help. Leah felt worried and wanted to save it right away. Without a tall ladder nearby, she turned to some firefighters who were nearby. They kindly used their ladder to free the poor bird. Then Leah drove the hurt crow to an animal rescue center. On the way, the scared bird held its claws tightly around her finger, leaving a warm and deep memory in Leah’s heart.
A few days later, the crow recovered and returned to the wild. When Leah walked her dog one morning, a crow flew down and dropped beautiful feathers at her feet as a thank-you gift. It was just the first present. Later, she received many other gifts like sticks, moss (苔藓) balls and a small bird nest from the crow family.
Now every morning, lots of crows fly beside Leah and her dog on their daily walks. Leah can quickly find the crow she saved because it has a metal band on its leg. These lovely birds have become her special friends.
This great story teaches us that kindness works wonders. A simple helpful action not only saved a crow’s life but also built a precious friendship between humans and wild animals.
