Yingzi, a woman from Shanghai, first became famous online by posting short videos. In those videos, she walked city streets in high-heeled (高跟的) shoes, danced and took different stylish photos. Later, she gained huge popularity across social media. People love her bold (大胆的) fashion style, confident manners and warm positive energy, especially her surprisingly young-looking face.
For Yingzi, expensive makeup products are not the secret to staying young. True youth comes from self-confidence and living the life you really want. Though she is already 70 and her son is 45, her youthful charm does not come easily. She sticks to strict healthy rules every day: no food after 5 p.m., more soup, vegetables and high-protein food rather than rice or noodles, and one hour of yoga every morning.
Yingzi loved beauty and fashion when she was little, yet she never thought she could make a job out of these hobbies. Back in the 1980s, she ran a kindergarten before moving to Japan with her husband and son. She worked in a local restaurant for years and learned many life skills there. She even opened her own Chinese restaurant and was reported by a famous magazine. Still, she chose to come back to China in the end.
When she turned 70 in 2022, she joined “Beijing Fashion Grandmas”. The members of this fashion team are over 65 on average. Taking part in the group helped her realize her childhood dream — she stepped onto the model runway at Shanghai Disneyland and showed off her great style.
