Leandro was cleaning his grandfather Leonel’s home after he died. Leandro’s mother Lenita says her father had a bedroom full of collections(收藏品). Leandro tried to clean it with the help of a neighbor.

“The neighbor asked me, ‘are you going to throw the turtle away too?’ What a big surprise,” said Leandro. He realized(意识到) that it was his mother’s pet. She lost the turtle when she was 8 years old.

The turtle’s name is Manuela. He was Lenita’s pet in the 1980s! One day in 1982, someone left the garden door open. And the pet turtle disappeared that day. Lenita was very sad. After many years, Lenita always told the story of her missing Manuela to her children.

Now Manuela lives with Leandro’s sister Nathalye. And Lenita often comes to visit him.
