25-year-old Anita Alvarez is an American swimmer.   

Last week, Alvarez was swimming at the world championship(锦标赛). At first, she felt great. She was doing very well. Her coach Andrea Fuentes was happy with her work.

But suddenly, Alvarez couldn’t feel her arms or legs. Everything went black. Alvarez stopped swimming and breathing(呼吸). She fell to the bottom(底部) of the pool. Just then, her coach quickly jumped into the pool in her clothes. She pulled the swimmer out of water. Alvarez was sent to the hospital quickly.

Something similar happened last year. Alvarez fainted(晕厥) at a race in Spain. Her coach saved her that time, too.
