Chinese traditional New Year is coming, there are only three weeks before our Spring Festival. At this time of each year, you could see an interesting phenomenon that almost every company would hold a party to celebrate new year, we call it 'nianhui'(annual party at the end of the year).

Annual party has become a kind of culture in China. No matter a small company only has ten people, or a major company with hundreds of people, they would make budget to hold a party when the new year is coming. What is an 'annual party' usually like ? As I know, there are often these parts included in an annual party. First, the boss and managers of company would have a meeting with all workers in a big meeting room, usually such meeting would hold in a luxury hotel. During the meeting, the managers would do some speeches to make a summary of the past year. They also set a goal for the new year to encourage their staff work harder. After this formal meeting, there will be some performances. All the shows are performed by the workers in their company. Someone dances, someone sings a song. It is funny to watch such unprofessional shows. Every company would buy some presents for workers. What present they would buy? it depends on the budget of the company. If the company did a great achievement in the past year, maybe they would buy a lot of great presents. As I know, the most popular prize is Ipad, Iphone, camera, travel package. 

I think this kind of party is not only a party to let all colleagues have fun together, it could help people releasing press and doing more communication with different colleagues. Apart from this, it is a kind of advertisement too.
