The Festival of Lights was first held in 2005, Berlin. It draws more than two million visitors each autumn. This year the Festival of Lights once again changes Berlin into a city of lights at the 18th FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS, from 07-16 October 2022, daily 7pm to 11pm. 

The Festival of Lights is one of the most popular festivals in the world. Lighting artists from all over the world show us different messages and themes through their works. People enjoy their works by watching the beautiful lights on the buildings, streets and squares.

Some people advised calling it off this year, saying it set a bad example when the country tries to save energy. While organizers(组织者) said they had successfully cut their expected energy use by 75 percent compared to last year, in large part by using LED bulbs. They also turned off the lights an hour earlier, at 11 pm instead of midnight each night.
