It’s 2023 now. A black-and-white cat named Gacek is now a star in Szczecin, a city in northwestern Poland.
According to a woman there, Gacek first appeared on Kaszubska Street in the centre of Szczecin about 10 years ago. He hanged around and people started to like him. Many of them also started feeding him, so from a thin cat, he soon turned into a fat animal. That made him cuter. In 2020, a video about him became popular on the Internet. Since then many people have made the journey to Szszecin to meet the “King of Kaszubska Street”.
Gacek lives in a box outside a shop on Kaszubska Street. Though he doesn’t really have an owner, the people who run the shop act as his caretaker. There is a sign outside his house. The sign tells people to leave whatever food they have for the cat in a container. And it also asks people not to pet him when he’s sleeping.
According to Notes From Poland, Gacek does have a few one-star reviews(评价), mostly from people who worry about his weight. But in all, the cat’s reviews are good. “As expected, he didn’t pay any attention to me which made the experience fully good,” one visitor from Oslo wrote. “If I could have dinner with anyone in the world, I would fly again at any minute to feed him. Good cat for a nice evening or even afternoon!”
