参观者打碎名家玻璃雕作品,价值数十万元

An art fair took place in Miami, the United States. The fair takes place every year. VIP guests can come the night before the opening day. This year, something unusual happened.

A woman touched one sculpture(雕塑) with her finger. The sculpture fell to the ground and broke into pieces. It is a Balloon Dog sculpture made of glass. It is worth 42,000 dollars. US artist Jeff Koons made the sculpture. His Balloon Dog sculptures are very famous and popular. There are 798 pieces of them. They are very expensive. Some are 3 meters high. The broken sculpture is 40 centimeters high.

“Before I knew it, they were picking up the pieces,” said Stephen Gamson, an art collector and artist. At first, Gamson thought that the fall could be part of a staged performance(舞台表演) . But then he noticed that the woman’s face became red, and that art fair workers were coming over fast. Finally, Gamson knew it became this big thing.

Gamson asked a worker if she was willing to sell him the broken pieces. She said she was still thinking about the offer, and the pieces of the sculpture are now stored in a box.
