These days, a photo became popular. The photo shows the history of the “2-yuan” meal at Hangzhou Normal University. The university started offering(提供) the cheap meal 18 years ago.

The idea for the meal came from a talk with poor students. They only purchased a bowl of white rice. They drank free soup at school. The university wanted to help them. They started to offer the “2-yuan” meal for them. 

The meal includes a bowl of rice, one meat dish, and one vegetable dish. They could also drink free soup.
