I’m 61 years old. I don’t have any jobs. My wife, our son, our daughter and I live in a motel for a year. Things are fine even after I lose my job. But soon my wife and daughter lose their jobs, too. Our son is working, but his income can’t pay for the motel and the car.
One evening I pick up my son at work and on the way home we don’t have enough gas. We have no money. We call a friend for help. They go to get gas for the car.
While I’m waiting, a young woman stops her car and asks, “What can I do for you?” I tell her my problem, and someone is coming with gas. She gives me $9.75. Later, she comes back and gives me some money. I ask her why, and she says, “I see someone in need and want to help.”
After we get home, we count the money, and it is over $300.00.
