An Alabama high school student and her 80-year-old grandfather both went to their first prom(毕业舞会) on Saturday, and they went together.
“She said, 'Hey, will you come to the prom with me?’” James Drain answered his granddaughter, Joy Webb, “I sure will.”
Joy, a student at a high school in Alabama, went to Saturday night’s prom with her grandfather in a horse-driven carriage.
“My family is everything to me, and I love him so much, and it’s really special to me because I know not many people get to do that,” Joy said. “And I know he loves me and I love him, and it’s just really special.” She said, “Poppa, oh, Poppa, you’re the one I wanted to start with. I would love that. You’re the one I wanted.”
Drain didn't go to his own prom while in high school, and he had never been in a tuxedo(无尾礼服) before Saturday night. “This is my first time in a tuxedo.” Drain said.
Joy called her grandfather her “prince”. “And this is my prince for the night,” she said.
