The 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon is about to begin. Compared with last year, this year's event has been fully upgraded in terms of the scale of participants, technical requirements, and supporting facilities and services.
At last year's race, only six robots managed to finish the course, with the best time recorded at 2 hours and 40 minutes. This year, more than 100 teams have signed up, bringing three major new changes to the competition. First, participation goals have been upgraded—teams are no longer just aiming to "finish without falling" but are now striving to hit human-level limit speed. Second, teams are better prepared this time. Instead of the experimental mindset seen last year, they are entering the race with mature products and advanced technologies. Third, the competition rules have become more challenging. A scoring weight coefficient method has been introduced to encourage teams to use the autonomous navigation mode, which will help drive technological breakthroughs.
