We have a new find at Sanxingdui. Some old iron pieces were found in Pit 7 of Sanxingdui.

Scientists say these iron pieces are from outer space. They are very old, from the late Shang Dynasty (商朝) (about 3,000 years ago). Ancient Shu people thought these iron pieces were precious gifts from the sky.

Scientists think this iron thing may be a ritual weapon (礼仪兵器). It may also be used to make bronze (青铜) things, because it is very hard.

This discovery is very important. It shows ancient people in Sichuan used iron from space. It fills a gap in the history of using iron in Southwest China.
