Doubao is expected to officially launch paid content in late June and unveil related features at the concurrent Force Conference. The timing was chosen because both the PC and mobile versions need about a month to complete the adaptation of basic functions and the payment system. If progress goes smoothly, Doubao will further integrate e-commerce features in the third quarter to improve paid scenarios, drive traffic to Douyin Mall through subsidies, and enter the operational phase in the fourth quarter.
In early May, a paid-version service notice appeared on Doubao’s App Store page, stating that to better serve professional users, a paid version with more value-added services will be introduced on top of the free version. It also revealed three subscription tiers: the Standard plan at 68 yuan per month (688 yuan per year), the Enhanced plan at 200 yuan per month (2,048 yuan per year), and the Professional plan at 500 yuan per month (5,088 yuan per year). Paid features will focus on complex tasks and productivity scenarios such as PPT generation, data analysis, and video production. As model capabilities continue to improve, the product can already handle an increasing number of complex, high-value tasks. Since such tasks demand more computing power and inference time, Doubao plans to launch paid services to meet these needs, while the free version will remain available for users’ daily use.
